I have long been enamored with the art of storytelling.
The way the right words capture attention, and pull you in and leave you breathless and haunted.
The way words can be woven together to create a melody or a poem or a life’s work.
The way those stories, the ones that leave impressions on us, make us lose ourselves and find ourselves all at once.
The way they make people live on long after they are gone. As a child I wrote novels, often hiding in my closet, sonnets on my skin, flowers in my hair.
Searching for words that would capture all I saw and felt and imagined life to be.
Three boys , a different coast and a few lifetimes later, and I am still very much that little girl, although the wrinkles on my face would tell you otherwise.
Underneath it all, these titles and roles, I am still me.
Trying to make stories, lyrical and sweeping, with all the wonder I feel in my soul.
It was only as I created and wondered and imagined and failed that I realized all the words I’d been searching for in that closet long ago, were here, in an image, like a prayer.
Hi. I’m Abi and I wholeheartedly, unashamedly, fall in love with my couples and their families. I am always moved to tears during a wedding day and my cheeks always hurt from smiling on the drive home. My couples aren’t just my clients, they become my friends, my co creators, my muses. I’ve been doing this thing called wedding photography for twelve years now and photographed over 300 weddings, and somehow still, each time, I discover something new and unique and wildly special about every story I get to be apart of. I call it magic. And that is my favorite part.
