I'm Roxanne! In 2025, my course Editing for Artists, hit its 10th consecutive year of enrollment.
As a photographer and painter for over 20 years, my creative background is studio art based, focused on painting, photography and design.
After a career as a designer in NYC, I pursued an MFA in Art Education, and have taught an array of fine arts including painting, drawing, graphic design, photography, and printmaking in public, private, and boarding schools throughout New England.
My experience in painting and art education, as well as my passion for working with artists of all skill levels deeply informs the way I photograph, edit, and focus on color theory today.
Understanding color theory is crucial to crafting an emotive, well-executed photo. Many professional artists have no experience in color theory; it's my goal to help artists create pointed and powerful edits in their unique creative voice, without the industry standard of presets.
Currently, I live and work in coastal Rhode Island with my husband (we met in a film darkroom at college 28 years ago!), and two teens. I teach and photograph families year-round throughout New England and beyond.
