class by celina baileyAt Work: From Inspiration to Project
Turn Your Daily Sparks into a Cohesive, Meaningful Photography Project.
Inspiration isn’t something you wait for—it’s a practice. Moving from scattered ideas to a clear project doesn’t mean losing your sense of play; it’s where creativity meets momentum and ideas become action.
By building a structured sandbox for our curiosity, we bypass the inner critic through low-pressure experiments, allowing a deeper narrative to emerge naturally from the chaos of a cluttered camera roll.
By the end of this 3-week course, you’ll walk away with an actionable project outline, a folder of sequenced images, and a repeatable inspiration system. Most importantly, you’ll find the confidence and direction to take your voice seriously—while keeping the process deeply personal and fun.

celina baileyWelcome to At Work: From Inspiration to Project. We are moving from open-ended, spontaneous play into a structured, project-based sandbox. We aren't rebuilding the rigid rules of classical photography schools. Instead, we are building a personal creative container—a safe, highly operational workspace that gives your brain a definitive playground to solve visual puzzles.
The Shift: A Photo Series vs. A Personal Project
As creators, we often use these terms interchangeably, but they represent two entirely different visual mindsets:
A Photo Series is bound by a literal subject. It relies on aesthetic uniformity (e.g., 10 sharp photos of vintage chairs). It documents what you look at.
A Personal Project is a living, breathing container. It tracks an ongoing internal question, an unexplainable visual obsession, or a specific friction line you are processing in your life. A project archives how you see.
In this 3-week guided masterclass, we are moving past the static limits of a simple photo series and learning how to author an honest personal project.
Who This Course Is For
This course is specifically designed to meet you wherever you are in your creative journey. It is for you if:
You’ve taken At Play (or any other exploratory creative class) and are looking for the next step.
You are craving structure, direction, and accountability for your big (or small!) creative ideas.
You start a lot of ideas but struggle to finish them or shape them into something cohesive.
You are ready to create not just individual images, but a project with deliberate intention.
You are a photographer, visual creator, or hobbyist looking to reconnect with your curiosity and build lasting creative confidence.

What You Will Walk Away With
By the end of our three weeks together, you won’t just walk away with a scattered folder of miscellaneous images. You will have built:
A Tangible, Cohesive Mini-Project: A sequenced body of work consisting of 5 to 10 final frames that project a specific emotional frequency.
Your Unified Inspiration Ecosystem: A customized backend system designed to survive long after this course ends. You will learn to harvest inspiration without the overwhelm, tagging and sorting your ideas so they are always ready to use.
Resilient Instinct Over Blueprints: You will gain the practical confidence to navigate the creative process "in the dark." You will learn to trust your hands, leverage strict constraints, and turn artistic problem-solving into your greatest creative asset.

“For me, this class was about reflection. I walked away with a few concrete ideas to play and really hone my voice. But I also came away with a world of ideas about slowing down, listening to my gut, and trusting it. “

MEET THE TEACHERCelina
Bailey
Hello, I’m Celina. I wear many hats and embrace being perfectly imperfect- a walking contradiction who finds beauty in everything.
I’m a visual art addict, a working mom to Mathis and Elsie, a loyal friend, a hopeless romantic, and someone who still believes in magic. Professionally, I’m the Artistic Director and content strategist for CrownRing | Noam Carver, a bridal company.
I also teach photography here and lead workshops in Montreal on photography and social media. Over the years, I’ve collaborated with brands like Disney, eBay and JCrew, and built a Pinterest following of over 3 million.
Storytelling is at the heart of everything I do. I’ve been drawn to documentary photography for over a decade—capturing real, quiet, and messy moments. Lately, I’ve fallen in love with film again, developing and scanning at home and dreaming of one day building a darkroom.
Born into a half British, half Moroccan family, I’ve lived in Montreal since I was five. I love coffee, vintage finds, florals & stripes, anything Japanese, and all the colors.
I dance often, stay up too late, and am always happy to try something new—especially if it feels a little unexpected and fun.

What other students had to say
At Play was the perfect spark to try something bold and brave. To pick up the camera without judgement and to get unstuck. It was so refreshing to commit to play and Celina is such a thoughtful and inspirational guide.
shannonAt Play was amazing! There were photographers of many different styles in my class, and it was amazing to see how everyone applied the lessons and techniques in their own way. I was also blown away by all the different techniques and skills that we went over! Even ones that I have used before were broken down in a way that I could see how to push it and use it in a slightly different way. Celina really pored her heart into this class and it was very helpful to me creatively.

This class is exactly what I wished it would be and needed, as I felt somehow stuck in my photography journey. Celina’s creative approach to (family) photography is beyond words. I am walking away with so many new ideas regarding composition, perspectives, camera settings, constraints (in a good way) .The class atmosphere was awesome and Celina was so helpful, engaged and encouraging towards our work. One of my favorite classes ever and perfect if you are stuck in a creative rut.
